Little Island Creamery is a charming little farm peacefully situated on Puget Island, in the middle of the Columbia River in Cathlamet, Washington. The farm’s barn was built in 1946 and, like a fine cheese, has only gotten better with age.
Construction of the creamery and overall restoration of the barn in which it is settled, began in 2014 and was completed in 2018. The barn’s lower level contains a milking parlor and all the “fixins” needed to create the best cheese and dairy products on the island. The upper level of the barn holds The Venue space, richly enclosed by the warm glow of cathedral ceilings and a floor made from locally-sourced and milled Douglas fir. The man who built the barn applied his boat building skills to his craft, so you’ll see no posts or beams above, but you’ll hear beautiful acoustics and find plenty of room for up to 150 reception guests or banquet seating for 100.
The Venue at Little Island Creamery was beautifully restored to bring people together in this special place, where great food is created and even greater times are had. The space is versatile in accommodating many different events, such as wedding ceremonies and receptions, birthdays, family reunions, graduations, celebrations of life, fundraisers, corporate events, concerts and dances. Bonus! The Venue is insulated and heated for comfortable events year-round.
We celebrated our 70th birthdays with a beautiful party in the Venue at Little Island Creamery. Such a wonderfully, picturesque barn, in a lovely pastoral setting. The staff bent over backwards to ensure our every need was met and exceeded. Acoustics inside the barn are superb, so bring on the music! Beautiful locally-sourced timber floors are perfect for dancing. Do as little or as much decorating as you wish, the space speaks for itself with the gorgeous wood as the backdrop, yet the space is large enough to accommodate huge floral arrangements. We'll do it all over again when we're 75!
